The Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Smart City Housing Lahore for a residential project in Lahore, according to a report by the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) dated 28 October 2026. The Nation carried the same report on the same day, tagged APP, so this is one wire report and not two independent ones. We read both on 29 October. We have not seen a release from FGEHA or from the company, and this article makes no statement of its own on approvals.

What the report says

  • Parties. FGEHA and Smart City Housing Lahore. The report names the FGEHA Director Joint Venture and a representative of the company as the signatories, and says FGEHA’s Director General attended with other senior officials.
  • Land and place. About 750 kanals on Multan Road, Lahore.
  • Model. An End-Product/Turnkey Model, under which the report says the development partner delivers the project to agreed requirements.
  • Purpose. The Director General is quoted as saying the project aims to meet the housing needs of federal government employees in Lahore, and that it could be expanded if more suitable land becomes available.
  • The partner. The report says the company first sent FGEHA a proposal and is now a business partner of FGEHA. It describes Smart City Housing Lahore as an LDA-approved project near Bahria Enclave on Multan Road. That is the report’s description. We searched LDA’s approved and illegal lists on 29 October and found no entry named Smart City Housing Lahore. A similarly named entry, Smart City Housing Scheme, is on LDA’s approved list with a UBD Canal Road location and no sponsor name, and we cannot tell whether it is the same project.
  • Legal basis. The Director General is quoted as saying the FGEHA Act empowers the authority to acquire land and start residential projects across the country.

What the report does not say

  • Any price, payment plan, timeline or number of units.
  • Who may apply, how allotments would be made, or how many plots or flats would go to federal government employees.
  • Who owns the land, or what approvals the FGEHA project itself holds from any authority.
  • Whether the 750 kanals are part of the company’s existing scheme or separate land.

What readers can check

Anyone considering a stake in this project may wish to ask FGEHA for an official notice or advertisement, and to ask which approvals the project holds and from which authority, before paying any money. Our guide to reading the LDA approved and illegal scheme lists explains how to read LDA’s pages. We will update this article if FGEHA or the company publishes details.
