Mortgage and installment calculator
Monthly payment and total payable for a fixed markup rate
Enter the loan amount, the yearly markup (interest) rate and the term to see an estimated monthly installment, the total you would pay back and how much of that is markup.
Use the rate and term from your bank’s offer. This tool does not know current rates and does not fill in any rate for you.
How it works
The calculator assumes a fixed rate and equal monthly installments on a reducing balance. The monthly rate is the yearly rate divided by 12, and:
payment = loan × r ÷ (1 − (1 + r)−n), where r is the monthly rate and n is the number of months. Total payable is the payment times n, and total markup is total payable minus the loan. At a 0% rate the payment is simply the loan divided by n.
Your bank may work it out differently. Floating rates, processing and insurance charges, advance payments, the way markup is charged on the balance, and early settlement terms can all change the real figures. Ask the bank for its written repayment schedule. The subsidised affordable-housing scheme has its own terms; see how the SBP policy rate and housing finance affect buyers.
This is an estimate, not advice. The result depends on the numbers you enter and the method described above. It is for general information only and is not financial, legal or tax advice. Check figures with your bank, society, authority or a qualified professional before you decide anything.
