The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has given in-principle approval to five building projects, three outlets reported on 24 October 2026, quoting CDA. They are two high-rises in Islamabad’s Blue Area and three projects in Bahria Garden City and Gulberg Greens. We did not find the announcement on CDA’s own news page, so this article reports what the outlets say CDA said.

The two Blue Area towers

APP and Minute Mirror, both quoting CDA, say its Design Vetting Committee approved the plans in principle at a meeting at CDA headquarters chaired by the Member Planning and Development, Muhammad Umair.

  • Plot 13, Blue Area (Sector F-8/G-8, as printed by APP). A 45-storey mixed-use tower of about 659 feet. APP gives a proposed covered area of 557,641 square feet, with five underground parking floors, ground-floor retail, restaurant floors, residential apartments and penthouses.
  • Plot 09, Blue Area (Sector F-9/G-9, as printed by APP). A tower of about 580 feet. APP says 42 floors including additional service floors. Minute Mirror says 42 storeys. The reports do not name the applicants for the Blue Area plots.

The three other projects

APP and Minute Mirror name Tremezzo Mall in Bahria Garden City, Plot 62 in the Business Park at Gulberg Greens, and Plot 108 in Park Avenue North, Gulberg Greens. APP says their implementation remains subject to resolving technical objections and meeting regulatory requirements.

What CDA says is still required

CDA says all five must meet legal, technical and regulatory requirements before final approval, including structural stability, parking, fire safety and protection of human life. APP quotes CDA Chairman Sohail Ashraf on encouraging private investment and faster processing of building plans. Minute Mirror says the decision followed directions from the Interior Minister.

Where the reports differ

ARY News says the committee “approved” five projects and describes the other three as having conditional approval. APP and Minute Mirror say in-principle approval. We have followed the wording that CDA’s own caveats support.

What we could not confirm

  • We found no CDA release on its website.
  • The reports do not give the meeting date. ARY says Saturday, which was 24 October.
  • This concerns building plans only. We make no statement on the layout plan, NOC or approval status of any society named above.

What to check next

Anyone with an interest in these plots may wish to look for CDA’s final approval of each building plan, and for any notice that lists conditions.
