The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) carried out an operation against six illegal housing schemes in Lahore, according to reports published by 24NewsHD and Pakistan Observer on 12 October 2026. Both outlets say teams demolished boundary walls, offices, roads and other structures. We did not see an LDA notice or statement on the operation, so everything below is as reported by those two outlets.

What was reported

Both 24NewsHD and Pakistan Observer say the operation covered schemes along Sundar-Raiwind Road and Multan Road. They name these schemes:

  • Mashallah Villas, described as an illegal subdivision near Mal Pind
  • Daman City
  • Maraka Marketing
  • Maraka Homes
  • Maraka City
  • New Lahore City

24NewsHD quotes an LDA director general, who is not named, as saying that “indiscriminate action against illegal housing schemes and illegal commercial activities was ongoing.” Neither report gives the exact dates of the operation or the number of structures removed.

Why it matters

A scheme without approval from the relevant authority can face demolition, as reported here. Buyers who have paid installments or booking money in such schemes may find it difficult to get possession, utilities or a clean title. The reports do not say whether the LDA has published a list of other unapproved schemes or what remedies exist for existing buyers.

What readers should check

Before paying for a plot in any private scheme, ask for the approval documents and verify them directly with the authority that regulates the area. Check that the approval covers the exact scheme name and location, since several of the names above are similar to each other. Keep copies of every receipt and agreement. Readers who have already bought in any of the named schemes may wish to seek qualified legal advice.

We will update this story if the LDA publishes an official statement or a list of the affected schemes.
