The government says Rs511 billion in financing has been approved under the Prime Minister’s Apna Ghar Programme and about Rs91 billion has been disbursed, according to reports of a finance ministry statement on a meeting held on 28 October 2026. APP, Radio Pakistan and The Express Tribune carry the figures, and we read all three on 29 October. We could not open the statement itself, so this is an attributed report and not a check against a primary document.
What the reports say
The finance minister chaired the sixth meeting of the Access to Finance Steering Committee at the Finance Division. On housing, the reports give these figures:
- Approved. Rs511 billion in financing under Apna Ghar.
- Disbursed. About Rs91 billion, in 15,584 loans.
- Applications. 86,896. APP and The Express Tribune list this as the number of applications. Radio Pakistan words it as 86,896 applications that were approved. The reports do not explain the difference.
- Outstanding housing finance. APP and The Express Tribune give Rs455 billion for 241,500 borrowers. Radio Pakistan does not mention it. None of the three says what date the figures are as of.
APP also says the committee discussed speeding up disbursements and easing housing supply constraints, including financing for builders, developers and under-construction projects. The Express Tribune adds that the statement covered small business, agriculture and electric vehicle schemes as well.
What the reports do not say
- The date the figures are as of.
- How many of the approved loans are waiting for disbursement, or why.
- Any new rule, rate or deadline for borrowers.
- Whether the Rs455 billion of outstanding housing finance includes loans outside Apna Ghar.
What borrowers can check
Anyone with an Apna Ghar application may wish to ask their bank where it stands, since approval and disbursement are separate steps in these figures. For the document list banks ask for, see our report on the reported five-document requirement. For how the policy rate affects housing loans, see how the SBP policy rate and housing finance affect property buyers. We will update this article if the Ministry of Finance or the State Bank publishes the statement.
